opportunity for a NetApp Architect to support our Client at MacDill
AFB, Tampa Fl.
NetApp Architect residency at FBI Operational Technology Division
in Pocatello, ID. Customer is moving to cDOT and will need a
resource who can help with Knowledge Transfer and who has strong
ONTAP Select Skills. Roles and Responsibilities include but are not
limited to: ---The SME working with the customer, will provide
project management and project execution as required by the
Customer, which may include:
---Consulting on storage management solutions tailored to meet the
---Implementing or improving storage management tools usage within
the Customer's environment
---Integrating storage management best practices into the
Customer's operational framework
---Driving Customer utilization and consumption of NetApp advanced
storage efficiency features
---Promoting documentation of the NetApp environment and
recommended storage management best practices
---Performing capacity-planning activities that support Customer
---Possibly assisting a NetApp Operations Architect resource, if
applicable, in implementing and maintaining the operations
management component of a NetApp solution
---Performing NetApp Data ONTAP-- and firmware upgrades and
---Implementing and upgrading NetApp Operations Manager (OM)
---Using OM for storage and data management system monitoring
---Performing on-site diagnostics and replacement of hardware
---Providing NetApp Global Support Center (GSC) coordination
---Performing test planning and execution
---Participating in regularly scheduled reviews with the Customer
Qualifications: ---Active DOD Top Secret Clearance required
---U.S. Citizenship is required
---Applications supported: Windows 2012, VMware 6.5., Exchange
2016, Avamar, Commvault.
---Protocol: iSCSI, NFS, CIFS.
---At least 3 years' of working experience in the technical areas
of Storage and/or Data Engineering within a Linux, RHEL/RHEV or
---Participate in Storage System Design consulting, Storage
capacity planning and launch reviews.
---Experience with block level storage, file system and/or object
storage systems (OSS).
---Desired Exposure to open-source Storage "Ceph " utilizing BASH
or Shell Scripting for automation.
---Deep understanding of RHEL 5/7, ZFS, various RAID and JBOD
---Experience utilizing SQL, Bash, Shell, PERL and/or Python for
automating redundant daily tasks.
---Preferred exposure to OpenStack/AWS (or similar Cloud platform)
for Virtual Cloud Storage, replicating data, fault-tolerance, and
providing scalable virtual data Cloud solutions.
---Preferred Exposure to Python Scripting or similar language for
Automation and Configuration Management.
---Experience working in a Storage or Cloud Datacenter
---Experience utilizing NetApp, NetApp CLI, or other Data Storage
---Experience utilizing monitoring tools such as Nagios (preferably
Open Source tool iCinga)
---Experience setting up Virtual Storage and converting Physical
Storage components to Virtual Storage through an array of
---Maintaining existing Storage running on Virtual Machines (VM's),
and Hypervisors (Hyper-V's).
---Preferred exposure to "Gluster" or similar File-system Storage
---Preferred exposure to Amazon "EBS" or similar block-level
---Utilize existing Data monitoring tools and creating new
monitoring processes or systems to ensure Data and Hardware
components are running and secured.
---Gather Storage and relevant System requirements and work to
Design Storage and Data processes and systems to meet project
---Troubleshoot and correct Storage and/or Network Data issues as
they relate to supported systems.
---Must have strong communication and planning skills, be a team
player and self-starter.
---Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to
exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and
