Applicants must have graduated or be on track to graduate by June 2020. (If you---re a veterans, you must have graduated or plan to graduate between June 2014 and June 2020).--Some of the positions the FBI offers include, but are not limited to:Biometric Images Specialist: Utilizes computer equipment to identify individuals based on a variety of biometric methods of identification including fingerprints, palm prints, iris and facial recognition. Directly supports ongoing investigations by confirming whether recovered biometric images correspond with individuals--- previously on record.--A bachelor---s degree in any field of study is accepted for this position. This position serves only in the Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division located in Clarksburg, WV.Electronic Surveillance (ELSUR) Operations Technician:--Performs a variety of services to support electronic surveillance operations through the processing and control of collected evidence. Ensures the integrity of electronic surveillance evidence that can serve as a critical piece in an overall investigation. A bachelor---s degree in any field of study is accepted for this position. This position serves throughout the 56 Field Offices.Evidence Technician:--Responsible for the proper and secure handling of evidence acquired by a Field Office. Assists FBI, as well as federal, state and local law enforcement personnel in the legal handling of a variety of evidence-related matters, ensuring a key component to investigations is processed in adherence with the highest standards.--A bachelor---s degree in any field of study is accepted for this position. This position serves throughout the 56 Field Offices.Government Information Specialist: Provides support in a developmental capacity as a specialist on requests, inquiries and/or cases involving common problems or issues. Complexity begins to increase with experience. Knowledge of governing legal and regulatory guidelines and of analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to perform assignments properly and accurately is preferred but not mandatory.--A bachelor---s degree in any field of study is accepted for this position.--This position serves in the Information Management Division in Winchester, VA; Savannah, GA, and Pocatello, ID.Human Resources Assistant: Provides support for recruiting entry-level types of positions for clerical, lower- level technical and specialty positions and trade occupations. Assists in a variety of activities pertaining to the Bureau's overall applicant program(s) such as testing, interviewing and hiring. Represents the FBI in attending recruiting conferences/career fairs and delivering presentations to audiences throughout your recruiting area. A bachelor---s degree in any field of study is accepted for this position. This position serves throughout the 56 Field Office locations, as well as Headquarters divisions.Human Resources Specialist: Provides support for the entire FBI workforce. Works in many areas, such as compensation, employee relations, benefits, retirement, human resources development, position management, recruiting and staffing and performance management.--A bachelor---s degree in any field of study is accepted for this position. This position serves in the Human Resources Division located at Headquarters in Washington, DC, and Clarksburg, WV.Identification Records Examiner: Performs a variety of records management work, processing requests for a variety of records including criminal, signatures and fingerprints. Establishes, modifies, updates, consolidates and purges records in adherence with all current rules and regulations. A bachelor---s degree in any field of study is accepted for this position. This position serves only in the CJIS Division located in Clarksburg, WV.Legal Instruments Examiner:-- Works with reviewing an individual---s eligibility to make firearm purchases, performing a series of checks in order to determine if any prohibiting factors exist. Receives and responds to written and telephone inquiries from gun buyers, utilizing law enforcement databases and conducting additional research to resolve each case.--A bachelor---s degree in any field of study is accepted for this position. This position serves only in the CJIS Division located in Clarksburg, WV.Management and Program Analyst: Provides analytical support for the organization. Conducts research and analysis by utilizing surveys, interviews, time and motion studies, feasibility studies, risk assessments and/or work measurement studies in order to formulate selected segments of program/project plans; arrive at quantitative data; and make recommendations.--A bachelor---s degree in any field of study is accepted for this position.--This position serves throughout Headquarters divisions.Management and Program Assistant: Provides support on issues relating to clerical and technical management and program-related matters that impact the analytical workforce. Performs a variety of functions to assist higher-level employees performing analysis functions by gathering, evaluating and compiling data and information to report progress, explain problems discerned with data and/or provide recommendations for solution. A bachelor---s degree in any field of study is accepted for this position.--This position serves throughout Headquarters divisions.Operational Support Technician: Performs assignments ranging from program analysis and administrative support to operational coordination. Working in one of our 56 Field Offices across the country, you will get deep exposure to the inner workings of an FBI squad and form deep connections along the way. A bachelor---s degree in any field of study is accepted for this position. This position serves throughout the 56 Field Offices.Operations Center Technician: Provides immediate response and assistance with emergency or crisis situations. Receives and assesses communications from the public, utilizing a variety of information sources to develop conclusions on the appropriate level of response needed. Supports critical investigations and have an impact on the resolution of different types of emergency situations. A bachelor---s degree in any field of study is accepted for this position. This position serves in many of the 56 Field Offices.Paralegal Specialist: There are three variants of this position:

  • Chief Defense Counsel (CDC) Assistant:-- Performs a variety of analytical, research and procedural duties to provide legal assistance to the CDC. Processes requests such as subpoenas, congressional and administrative inquiries and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) matters, as well provides Special Agents with paralegal instruction and guidance.--A bachelor---s degree in any field of study is accepted for this position. This position serves throughout the 56 Field Offices.
  • Asset Forfeiture Investigator: Performs a variety of assignments relating to analysis, evaluation and development of forfeiture cases --- assisting directly with case preparation for litigation. Provides a wide range of administrative activities associated with the seizure, storage and disposal for both forfeitable and abandoned property. A bachelor---s degree in any field of study is accepted for this position. This position serves throughout the 56 Field Offices.
  • Paralegal Specialist (HQ):-- Responsible for receiving, reviewing, researching and analyzing requests involving legal matters/issues, as relevant to the mission, subject matter and operation of a particular Division. Assists in interviewing witnesses, defendants and private citizens and based on these interviews, evaluate the relevance and worth of evidence and recommend additional investigative avenues to be pursued. This position serves in the Office of General Counsel at Headquarters located in Washington, DC.Records Conversion Technician: Provides support to the Document Conversion Laboratory Unit records scanning and conversion functions for a range of requests, which are mostly from Bureau customers and concern paper documents, electronic media and evidentiary materials.--A bachelor---s degree in any field of study is accepted for this position. This position serves in the Information Management Division in Winchester, VA, Savannah, GA, and Pocatello, ID.Research Analyst: Performs analytical work necessary to process name checks and related matters of varying degrees of difficulty and urgency submitted by agencies within the executive branch of government and state and local criminal justice components concerning individuals or organizations of interest to them. Become familiar with the background of new organizations and movements in security and criminal fields in order to evaluate and select pertinent information from constantly expanding volumes of material in Bureau files.--A bachelor---s degree in any field of study is accepted for this position. This position serves in the Information Management Division in Winchester, VA, Savannah, GA, and Pocatello, ID.Security Assistant: Performs investigative checks and administrative checks associated with assignments supporting a larger security program. Performs database checks related to the early stages of background investigation, communicates and coordinates with different individuals and/or agencies to collect and confirm information. A bachelor---s degree in any field of study is accepted for this position. This position serves throughout the 56 Field Offices, as well as Headquarters divisions.Security Specialist: Provides direct support and service to the administration of FBI Security Programs, participating in complex security assessment investigations relating to clearances and access authorizations. Performs research utilizing a variety of different databases and information sources, developing conclusions that will directly have an impact on ensuring the security of agency operations. A bachelor---s degree in any field of study is accepted for this position. This position serves throughout the 56 Field Offices, as well as Headquarters divisions.Supply Technician / Purchasing Agent: Both positions work with the procurement, maintenance and disposal of all expendable and nonexpendable Field Office property. Performs a variety of supply and service acquisition and control functions, playing an important role in maintaining overall operational integrity of the Field Office.--A bachelor---s degree in any field of study is accepted for the Supply Technician position, while a master---s degree would be required for the Purchasing Agent. These positions are located throughout the 56 Field Offices.Threat Intake Examiner: Receives and assesses calls placed to the FBI, communicating with callers to determine the scope and severity of the problem being reported and then assessing and ensuring any pertinent information is forwarded on to the appropriate source. Utilize a variety of law enforcement databases to research and verify any reported threats and work alongside Special Agent personnel to determine follow-up action.--A bachelor---s degree in any field of study is accepted for this position.--This position serves only in the CJIS Division located in Clarksburg, WV.KEY REQUIREMENTS:--To apply for the Collegiate Hiring Initiative, applicants must:--

  • Have a graduating GPA of no less than 2.95 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Be able to obtain a Top Secret Clearance.
  • Pass an FBI polygraph examination.
  • Pass an FBI-administered urinalysis drug test and be in compliance with the FBI Employment Drug Policy:
    • No use of marijuana within the last three years.
    • No use of any other illegal drug in the past 10 years.
    • No selling, distributing, manufacturing or transporting of any illegal drugs.
    • No use of a prescription drug or a legally obtainable substance in a manner for which it was not intended within the last three years.In addition, you must:
      • Never have been convicted of a felony.
      • Not be in default on a student loan insured by the U.S. government.
