BLS, ACLS, PALsCommon diagnoses/Types of patients Peds- Geriatrics; Rarely get peds (obs status); Adults- Geriatrics: post surgicals, rehab, IV abx- infections, Swing Bed (avg length of stay 14 days)Experience or 'Must have' skills Must have 1 year of experience in specialty Will accept first time travelersAre RNs required to titrate drips? None, may be asked to initiate a titratable drip until able to transfer. Generally the ED nurse will be there to helpCommon titratable &/or set rate drips NoneAre there tele/monitor techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? Remote Tele Tech located at Twin Falls; Nurses must be able to read and interpret EKGs; must be able to measure PR, QRS, and QT intervals appropriatelyCharge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? 1 Charge Nurse over ER and MSAre there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios 2 CNAs (1 works as an aide and 1 as a unit secretary) 2 RNs 1 LPN on Dayshift (team nursing) RT Equipment (i.e., Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, vents, etc.) RT in house during day shift and on-call at nights (20 min response time) RT does breathing tx during days, RNs expected to administer breathing tx at nightShifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) 12s 7-7Weekend Requirement Every OtherHoliday Requirement May be asked to go into Holiday RotationIs there Call or a Standby requirement?
