Sodexo is seeking a Food Operations Manager 3 for Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, ID. Portneuf Medical Center is an acute care facility with 140 beds that has served the healthcare needs of Eastern Idaho since 1907. Set against a Rocky Mountain backdrop in eastern Idaho, the Bannock County seat of Pocatello beckons newcomers with its beautiful views, outdoor adventure and a small town feel.

SIGN-ON BONUS $3,000

The Food Operations Manager will work closely with the Director of Food & Nutrition to manage day to day food production operations and provide best in class experience to our patients, guests and staff.

We are looking for candidates who will:

  • Manage the food production process including production planning and controls for At Your Request (on-demand program) for patient services, retail, and catering
  • Develop and maintain excellent client and customer relationships with a front of the house presence;
  • Ensure Sodexo Culinary Standards including recipe compliance and food quality and presentation;
  • Manage food costing, budget controls and compliance;
  • Ensure food sanitation compliance;
  • Develop menus and manage ordering and inventory;
  • Have high expectations for customer service;
  • Have the ability to develop and train frontline staff;
  • Provide a safe work environment;
  • Knowledge of Sodexo Systems is preferred, but not required.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Culinary background, with the demonstrated ability to stay current with culinary trends and wellness programs
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of standards and implement company policies
  • Collaborative mindset and commitment to operational excellence standards
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities
  • A willingness to coach and develop staff, openness to change and attentive with a responsive communication style that will encourage success in this position.
  • strong computer skills and online ordering
  • high levels of proficiency with data analysis, Microsoft Office, menu planning & forecasting processes
  • understanding of safe food handling practices, qualities, and standards (e.g. HACCP forms, temperature logs, safety audits, inventory management).

Position Summary

Provides leadership and supervision for the on-site food service exempt and non-exempt level staff in the delivery of our contractual agreement with the client. Provides supervision for food services at account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the company.   • Assumes General Manager's (GM) responsibilities and authority in his/her absence
  • Utilizes Sodexo tools and programs to develop client, customer, and staff relationships, to ensure account retention
  • Implements and fully utilizes all Sodexo tools and programs to ensure financial outcomes
  • Directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources, ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met
  • Develops and implements plans, projects, with defined objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Sodexo strategic plan
  • Ensures adherence to all HR standards for Sodexo, client, and regulatory agencies

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 3 years

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.Sodexo is an EEO/AA/Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran employer.
