Consultant, Human Resources (1451) Posting Number: req729 12 Month Non-classified Staff Finance and Administration Pocatello - Main Primary Purpose Provide total HR support to specified divisions. Serve as a business partner with assigned areas in dealing with any HR related issues, this includes but it not limited to, employment, classification, compensation, employee relations, benefits, leaves, and unemployment. Key Responsibilities* Provides wide range of professional HR support services to assigned areas of the University in such units as, but not limited to: Finance & Business Affairs, Facilities Services, Information Technology Services, Student Affairs, and Athletics.* Counsels managers and employees on grievances, performance management, standards of conduct, disciplinary actions, productivity as well as other issues to resolve employer/employee matters.* Develop, evaluate and interpret personnel programs and policies.* Respond to inquiries regarding policies and procedures in order to answer questions and complaints submitted by faculty and staff.* Advise managers and employees on how to comply with federal, state, and university regulations, policies and procedures regarding human resource related matters.* Utilize applicant tracking systems to create job descriptions and job postings.* Guides hiring authorities and search committees through the recruitment process; provides direction/advice regarding the proper and most effective interview and selection tools; ensures compliance with relevant hiring policies, State and Federal laws; works closely with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion to ensure that all equal opportunity guidelines are followed.* Conduct position audits, analyzes and evaluates jobs using established classification system, and implements appropriate classification and pay level.* Conduct FLSA tests and review salaries to ensure federal and state compliance* Work with HR learning and development staff along with campus administrators and supervisors to deliver training sessions as needed.* Provide coverage for other HR Consultant when they are out of the office.* Review related HR paperwork and forms; ensure accuracy and compliance prior to processing.* Assists internal and external users of the University's Talent Management System.* Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications* Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.* At least two years recent related HR work experience with exposure in areas including, but not limited to, employment, classification, compensation, employee relations and investigations, benefits, and employee leave programs.* Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to relate to individuals with diverse backgrounds. Experience with Microsoft Office applications. Preferred Qualifications* Recent professional work experience in an institution of higher education's office of human resources performing HR Generalist and employee relations duties.* Recent experience related to the use of HR Information and Talent Management systems.
