Registered Nurse (RN) | Operating Room Location: Idaho Falls, ID Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,326 per week Shift Information: Days - 4 days x 10 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: 2 years License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: 3 years of operating room experience Trauma experience Shift and call flexibility Description: The role requires a registered nurse specializing in the operating room. The operating room consists of 13 surgical suites. The staff includes 25 registered nurses and 29 surgical technologists. The shift runs Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM. During the day, the operating room manages up to 10 surgical cases. From 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, the staff reduces to 8 registered nurses and 8 surgical technologists. From 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, staffing adjusts to 6 registered nurses and 5 surgical technologists. Evening shifts have 3 registered nurses and 2 surgical technologists covering. Overnight hours consist of 1 registered nurse and 1 surgical technologist. Weekends follow a similar structure, with an additional call team on Saturdays. On average, 50 hours of surgical time are utilized during weekdays. The electronic medical record system in use is Meditech. The ideal candidate should possess strong critical thinking skills. Open and outgoing personalities are preferred. Team players who are forward-thinking will excel in this environment. Preferred skills include certification in perioperative nursing, experience in burn units, robotic surgery, and neurosurgery. Typical procedures performed include wound debridement, skin grafting, EGD, craniotomy, and trauma surgeries. An emphasis is placed on patient safety and quality care during all surgical procedures. Weekend call is rotated among staff approximately every four weeks. Call shifts may range from 2 to 12 hours as needed. Every attempt is made to balance scheduled shifts and call hours.
