Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Orthopedics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Epic charting experience required Previous charge experience preferred Travel experience not required Locals not accepted - 100-mile radius rule in effect Description: This position requires an experienced Orthopedic Registered Nurse. The nurse will work three 12-hour night shifts. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5. Epic charting experience is necessary. The candidate should possess skills in blood product administration, central line blood draws, and colostomy care. Experience in managing feeding tubes, heparin, and insulin is essential. The ability to interpret dysrhythmias and follow isolation precautions is also required. Candidates should have experience in Med/Surg and MS/Tele. Knowledge of non-invasive airway management and oral suctioning is needed. Familiarity with orthopedic trauma, oxygen administration, and PCA is preferred. Experience in peripheral line care, starting and maintaining IVs, and managing surgical drains is required. Experience with total joint replacements and the use of rapid response/code teams is a plus. The unit provides interdisciplinary support from various teams, including physical therapy and respiratory services. The average daily census for the unit is 10 patients. The unit consists of 10 rooms and beds. Additional procedural experience or knowledge of special equipment may be beneficial but is not specified.
