Pocatello - Main Primary Purpose The Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders at Idaho State University is seeking an outstanding faculty member to join a dynamic, cohesive, and student-centered Audiology Program. To find the best fit for the program, this position is open track (Clinical or Tenure Track), open rank (Assistant or Associate) and open contract (10 or 12 month). A successful candidate would have the capacity and commitment to contribute to varying degrees across a broad array of areas including classroom instruction, student supervision and clinical instruction, and engagement in scholarly and service activities. The anticipated start date for the successful candidate will be August 2021.

Key Responsibilities Clinical Track:

- Provide graduate student supervision, clinical instruction, and/or direct services to adult and pediatric patients in the ISU Audiology Clinic
- Participate in creative and scholarly activities, including student mentoring of capstone projects
- Develop and teach classroom based courses or labs depending on interest and experience
- Provide service to the department, university, and profession - Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the Audiology Program with the potential for live, distance, and online formats
- Participate in clinical teaching/clinical supervision and/or direct services to patients in the ISU Audiology Clinic.
- Develop a viable line of research that includes extramural funding
- Direct and mentor student research efforts including capstone projects
- Provide service to the department, university, and profession Minimum Qualifications Clinical Track: - Earned master's degree (e.g., MS, MA) and/or doctoral degree in Audiology (e.g., AuD, PhD)
- Have a minimum of three years (post-graduation) of clinical audiology experience
- Capacity and commitment to contribute to clinical teaching/clinical supervision
- Excellent interpersonal and professional skills and potential for excellence in didactic and clinical instruction
- Evidence of strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Be eligible for the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A)
- Be eligible for Idaho licensure as an audiologist - Earned PhD in in Audiology, Speech and Hearing Sciences or research doctoral degree in a related field
- Candidate near completion of the doctorate (ABD) may be considered, but completion of the degree will be required to maintain employment
- Capacity and commitment to contribute to clinical teaching/clinical supervision
- Excellent interpersonal and professional skills and potential for excellence in didactic and clinical instruction
- Evidence of strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Be eligible for the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A)
- Be eligible for Idaho licensure as an audiologist

Preferred Qualifications Clinical Track: - Experience teaching at the university level
- Experience supervising and instructing graduate students in a clinical environment
- Three years of hearing-aid experience with multiple product lines and manufacturers
- Demonstrated success in clinical and classroom teaching and research/scholarly activities
- Interest in and/or experience in business administration and/or private practice clinical activities
- Other areas of preferred experience/interest include implantable devices (especially with cochlear implants), electrophysiological evaluation, and vestibular assessment and management
- Several years of university experience with a strong record of clinical instruction and involvement in creative and scholarly activities would be required for the Associate Professor rank - Experience teaching at the university level
- Experience supervising and instructing graduate students in a clinical environment
- Experiences with and/or capacity to participate in providing hearing aid services
- Demonstrated success in grant writing and research (a variety of specialty areas will be considered)
- Other areas of preferred experience/interest include experience with or a desire to learn implantable devices (especially cochlear implants), electrophysiological evaluation, and vestibular assessment and management
- Several years of university experience (e.g., full time or adjunct) with a strong record of scholarship and grant writing would be required for the Associate Professor rank ISU's Audiology Clinic provides quality audiology services including: comprehensive evaluations, hearing screenings, and hearing aid device implementation for adults and children in the community and surrounding areas, ISU faculty, staff, and students.
