Job Description


The Naval Nuclear Laboratory, Business Solutions Engineering (BSE) is seeking a Facilities Building and Infrastructure engineer to assist and help manage the Naval Reactor Facility's (NRF) infrastructure, particularly space management and the Department of Energy (DOE) facilities reporting regulations.

This engineering position will:

Lead the efforts of managing NRF's industrial space and provide assistance in managing NRF's office space.
Provide assistance in managing NRF's Facility Information Management System (FIMS) and Facility Condition Assessment Program (FCAP).
Provide assistance in managing NRF's sustainability program.
Provide assistance in writing tasks to subcontractors to perform building maintenance.

The BSE unit is also cognizant of managing NRF's service subcontracts and the NRF's Building Information Modeling team. This position would include working with these teams to achieve results in space management, FIMS, FCAP, and sustainability. Teleworking options may be available.



Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill


Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 4 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 2 years of relevant experience; or Currently or previously NPE qualified; or CTE/ACRS and 1 year EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or Watch Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and 1 year as SRE.



Preferred Skills


Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Experience with current International Building Code.
Applicable mechanical or civil skill.
Ability to communicate effectively with peers.
Ability to work well individually and in a team environment.

Pay Range


$83,600.00 - $130,700.00 annually
Salary information provided is a general guide line only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations


The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
